- One day Siddhartha went outside of the palace and saw a sick man next to an old man, then he saw a corpse and then a holy man who had peace in himself he realized all these thing showed a sign of age.
- Siddhartha wanted to to end life's suffering, he wandered India for six years trying to find it. He meditated for 49 days under a fig tree and developed the understanding of the cause of the world;s suffering. He had reached enlightenment and got the nickname, "the enlighten one."
Origins and Beliefs:
- The Buddha preached to a sermon who laid down four mains ideas that to come to understand in his enlightenment.
- The Eightfold was a guide of behavior, much like a staircase. For Buddha you had to take one step to reach enlightenment. If you followed the Eightfold you could reach nirvana.
- Buddha rejected many gods of Hinduism.

- Five disciples heard Buddhas first sermon and they were admitted to sangha, a community for nuns or monks.
